Panda Express started its parent company first in Pasadena California as Panda Inn in 1973. It was started by Master Chef Ming Tsai Cherng (father of Andrew Cherng) and Andrew Cherng. It was later in 1983, when they gave a thought for making it a fast casual restaurant due to Andrew’s collaboration with Donahue Schriber Real estate’s founder. In 1985 it was launched in Westside Pavilion and from there Panda Express came into existence.
So, Panda express started from Glendale Galleria as a fast food chinese restaurant 34 years ago in 1983. Out of its 1900 locations 1739 are based out of US. It international journey started from Japan in year 2001. And it’s first middle east operation started recently in 2014 in Dubai.
